Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Modern Philosophical Studies (JMPS) enforces a rigorous policy against plagiarism. The act of plagiarism involves representing the work of others as one's own, and this behavior is not tolerated in the publication of our journal. Engaging with someone else's intellectual contributions without recognition is categorized as plagiarism. The act of duplicating elements from another author's manuscript, such as specific equations, illustrations, or any extended sections that are not considered common knowledge, or deliberately paraphrasing sentences without acknowledging the source, is deemed unethical. In the context of presentation, plagiarism refers to the process of duplicating or replicating information without the approval of the source. Self-plagiarism denotes the act of reusing significant excerpts from one’s own copyrighted content, either in exact form or with slight modifications, without acknowledging the original source. Each manuscript submitted undergoes a plagiarism check prior to the commencement of the review process. Upon identification of plagiarism and if the explanation does not meet expectations, the manuscript may be rejected. When severe plagiarism is detected, authors may be restricted from submitting any further manuscripts to the journal. The occurrence of minor plagiarism, where there is no intent to deceive, is moderately prevalent. It is the fundamental duty of researchers and authors, including co-authors, to guarantee that the papers they submit for publication uphold the highest ethical standards, particularly concerning plagiarism. To mitigate the risk of plagiarized content, we mandate that our authors submit a signed statement acknowledging their awareness of the organization's plagiarism policy. This declaration must assert that their submissions, such as articles and other works, are original and have not been copied in any manner. The procedure for addressing suspected plagiarism in a journal article involves a systematic comparison of the article, assessing the extent of any copied material, soliciting feedback from all editors, and reaching out to the corresponding author with supporting documentation.

Plagiarism is a matter we treat with great seriousness, and we utilize plagiarism detection software to assess every manuscript submitted. It is our conviction that plagiarism constitutes a type of academic misconduct, which ultimately jeopardizes the integrity of the research process. We are committed to maintaining the integrity of our journal by ensuring that all published research is original and that authors have properly credited their sources. To prevent plagiarism, it is essential to accurately cite all sources, including the author(s), title, and publication details for any text, data, or concepts incorporated into your work. Do not engage in copying and pasting from other sources; rather, express the information in your own words. Additionally, take care when utilizing your own past work, ensuring that you cite it properly when using any text or data from previous publications. Should you have any doubts regarding whether your work may be considered plagiarism, please do not hesitate to contact the editorial office for additional guidance.
